Caatinga or white forest are the dry interior old forest of Brazil. The leguminous trees such as catingueiras, juremas, and joazeiros are found here. These forests have very high rainfalls, usually in the area of 70 inches or more per year. Another rain forest area is the area of araucaria stretching from the Parana River to Northern Argentina.
